A chassis is like a man-made “skeleton” – it serves as a support for the internal workings of your vehicle. Your car’s frame is its basic chassis. Other parts, like the wheels and transmission, also constitute part of the chassis -- when these are added, the entire assembly is called the “rolling chassis.”
“Rolling chassis” also includes the parts that make the vehicle run, such as the engine, transmission, drive shaft, differential and suspension.
